Who is BGR?

BGR, born as Bugra Kagan OGUZ on January 23, 1990, in Antalya, Turkey, is a rising rap artist making waves in the Turkish music scene. Although his musical career only recently began, his creative voice and consistent releases have quickly earned him attention and a growing fanbase.

Early Life

Before pursuing music, BGR studied law at Istanbul Bilgi University and worked as a lawyer for several years. Despite a successful legal career, he always had a passion for rap, having started writing lyrics at the age of 16. In 2023, he made the bold decision to leave his legal profession behind and fully immerse himself in music. He established a personal studio in Antalya, received training, and began recording his own tracks.

Career

In October 2024, BGR released his first single, Üstü Kalsın, marking the beginning of his professional music journey. What started as a hobby quickly transformed into a serious pursuit. Committed to consistency, he released at least one single every month. His second release, Kopyala Beni, went viral on social media and was featured in thousands of videos.

By mid-2025, songs like Uzak and Randuman had surpassed 1 million streams in their first week. His momentum caught the attention of Spotify editors, and every release since his fourth single has been included in Spotify editorial playlists. Randuman was even featured in Hot Hits Türkiye, one of the platform’s top playlists, and tracks like Tamam Ulan, Randuman, Uzak, and İlahi (Cover) broke into the Top 50 charts.

In 2025, BGR was invited to participate in the conceptual SALIGIA album, contributing a track themed around “Superbia” (Pride). The song and its high-budget, artistically ambitious music video became one of the boldest projects in Turkey that year. Within a year of launching his career, BGR had already begun performing at live shows and festivals.

BGR is recognized for his consistent output, emotionally charged lyrics, and ability to evolve quickly. His style blends modern rap sensibilities with personal storytelling, rooted in a mature perspective shaped by his past career.
